Bachelor Degree

Minimum GPA

Applicants must hold an above-average master's/Diplom/Magister or equivalent (above-average defined as overall grade ≥2.5 or 'good pass'); typically a two-year master's (120 ECTS) and usually at least 300 ECTS total. No specific GPA threshold is mandated; GRE/GMAT are not required for PhD. Professional experience is not mandatory but may be considered.

TUM does not charge tuition fees for doctoral research. Doctoral candidates must pay a semester contribution (~EUR 144 per semester). International applicants may pay a nostrification fee of EUR 75. TUM generally does not offer its own doctoral scholarships (very few exceptions).
