There are no fixed application deadlines for PhD programmes at NTNU; acceptance is handled continuously throughout the academic year (rolling admissions).

Minimum GPA

For PhD admission (including positions potentially funded through the CAI-BLUE project) applicants must hold a Master's degree of 120 ECTS within one of the subject areas covered by the programme (examples: Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction). Financing is an absolute requirement for admission, and applicants are expected to have a weighted average grade of B or higher in the final two years of the master's degree.

Financing is required for admission to a PhD programme. Doctoral students/PhD candidates are exempt from tuition fees. PhD candidates normally do not pay a semester fee, but must pay the semester fee if they take courses not included in their required coursework.
